Regional First – HBL Facebook Chatbot

As part of its digital journey, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) has successfully launched the first Facebook Natural Language Understanding (NLU) chatbot with regional language capabilities. 

CEO of HBL, Muhammad Aurengzeb in an interview in 2020 stated that “an essential part of banks plans to transform digitally has to be based on heightened customer expectations“

He further stated that banks need to look into effective partnerships with experts to achieve this objective.

For Pakistan’s largest bank, serving over 23 million customers worldwide this will simplify banking transactions for a huge number of clients. Customers already using Facebook extensively for social interaction can now seamlessly fulfil their banking needs at the touch of a button, in a familiar and easy to use space.

The HBL AI Conversational Chatbot, being a generation ahead of industry-wide Chatbots, is able to attend to customer needs in English as well as in regional languages.
